Chanel x Three Shadows Photography Art Centre hold an exhibition
Chanel held the 2022 Jimei x Arles Curatorial Award for Photography and Moving Image Finalist Exhibition in collaboration with Three Shadows Photography Art Centre. The exhibition presents five groups of proposals shortlisted for this award, which was created in 2021 by Chanel and Three Shadows to support young creativity of photography and moving image.
Immersive exhibition of Notre Dame de Paris exclusively sponsored by L’Oreal Group lands in Shanghai
Exclusively sponsored by L’Oreal Group, the first immersive exhibition with augmented reality technology of Notre Dame de Paris (巴黎圣母院) is being held in Shanghai. The exhibition runs from 2 December 2022 to 2 January 2023 and highlights 850 years of Notre Dame de Paris history with augmented reality technology.
Lanvin X Pronounce launch a capsule collection
Lanvin launched a brand-new capsule collection with the theme “unlimited double hearts” (无限双心) in collaboration with Pronounce, a Chinese designer fashion brand. The “unlimited double hearts” consist of Lanvin’s traditional elements of stereoscopic butterfly ribbons, representing the bonds of love between parents and children.
Arthur Chen becomes Moose Knuckle’s brand ambassador
On 25 December, Moose Knuckle announced Arthur Chen(陈飞宇) as its brand ambassador. Arthur is a Chinese actor with more than 13 million followers on Weibo.

Diptyque’s “Narratives of Material” Art Workshop kicks off in Shanghai
Diptyque invited material artist Chunyi Zhang (张纯一) to curate the “Narratives of Material” Art Workshop at Zhang’s Garden in Shanghai. The workshop includes four parts: A Journey of Wax, From Clay to Ceramic, Floating Glass and Back to Fabric, revealing a world of 4 types of material which are throughout the brand.
Estee Lauder unveils its Innovation and R&D Center in Shanghai
On 15 December, Estee Launder officially unveils its Innovation and R&D Center (创新研发中心) located in Shanghai. With an area of 12,000㎡, the center has advanced formula clinical laboratories, shared spaces, interactive testing devices, packaging model studios and pilot workshops, aimed to accelerate the commercialization of customer insights.
L’Oreal China holds its 25th anniversary show in Shanghai
To celebrate its 25th birthday, L’Oreal China held a themed show in Shanghai Exhibition Center. In the show, L’Oreal played a trio of beauty, which denotes an exhibition, record and promise of beauty, to welcome the next 25 years in China.

Lululemon launches its first stand-alone store in China
Lululemon launched its first stand-alone store at Dongping Road in Shanghai. The large stained-glass panels on the sides of the building combine elements of sports such as yoga, cycling, frisbee and skateboarding to depict the characters of elegant ladies and “old white-collars” of Shanghai. It is the brand’s 91st store in China.

BLANCPAIN announces Xuan Huang to be the brand ambassador
On 15 December, BLANCPAIN announced Xuan Huang (黄轩), as its new brand ambassador. Xuan Huang is a famous Chinese actor with more than 10 million followers on Weibo (微博).
Vacheron Constantin unveils “Maison 1755” immersive experiential space
Vacheron Constantin unveiled the “Maison 1755” at Zhang’s Garden in Shanghai on 27 November. It is the brand’s largest immersive experiential space in China. Visitors can enjoy the masterpieces, diverse digital interactive experiences, art exhibition and exclusive recreational services at the 4-storey mansion. The space successfully unfolds the brand’s “Beautiful High Watchmaking”.

Marriott International Group plans to open more than 35 luxury hotels worldwide in 2023
Announcing in ILTM Cannes, in 2023 Marriott International Group expects to open more than 35 luxury hotels in various places around the world, including in Jiuzhaigou, which is a renowned tourism destination in China.
Accor to open four hotels in China in 2023
Accor released a list of hotels it will open in 2023, including four in China. These hotels will be in Macao, Shanghai, Qingdao, Chengdu. The hotel in Macao is planned to open mid 2023, while the other three towards end 2023.

China’s ice, snow market reports steady expansion, upgrading
China’s ice and snow market has seen robust growth and strong upgrading momentum as winter sports become more popular . The market value rose 51.88 percent year on year in 2021 and is expected to exceed 800 billion yuan (about 113.41 billion U.S. dollars) this year. It is likely to top 1 trillion yuan in 2025, according to a report on the development of the industry.
Chinese cities issue consumption coupons to boost spending; rapid recovery expected
Various Chinese cities have taken proactive measures, including issuing coupons, to boost consumer spending, aiming for a rapid consumption recovery after China optimized its anti-COVID-19 measures. Traveling, catering, lodging and on-site retail businesses are expected to take the lead in the consumption recovery, experts said, expecting the coming New Year’s Day and the Chinese New Year will usher in peak passenger flows for family visits and leisure trips.
Domestic travel industry sees an early increase in demand, with ticket bookings jumping for New Year holiday
Domestic travel has seen an increase in demand, with tickets for trips between cities tripling on major online ticket booking platforms and some even selling out in advance of the three-day New Year holiday against the backdrop of optimized pandemic control measures in China. The public’s desire to travel has increased in anticipation of the upcoming New Year holiday, which runs from December 31 to January 2, the first extended holiday since the State Council, China’s cabinet, announced 10 new measures to optimize COVID-19 prevention and control.
